COMPANY
Blue Omega Entertainment is compromised of a team of creative professionals dedicated to producing amazing, unique, and entertaining experiences that captivate the audience. Our core team develops the initial concepts/prototypes and then works with the best companies in the business to make those concepts a reality.
Founded in 2003 in Annapolis, MD, Blue Omega entered into the entertainment world with the production and successful completion of two full length feature films. The company’s first feature film, Dark Ride was released in association with Lions Gate Films. It was part of After Dark Films “8 Films to Die For” ticket which showcased some of the most controversial horror films of the year. Blue Omega’s most recent film production, Danika, starring Marisa Tomei, was released in December of 2006 by Firstlook Films.
Blue Omega launched the interactive division of the company with Damnation is the first film and interactive cross-over property. The proof of concept was originally released as an Unreal 2004 Modification and won 2nd Place in the $1,000,000 Nvidia Make Something Unreal Contest. Since that time, Blue Omega has re-imagined Damnation and moved it into full production as a commercially viable release with publishing and distribution by Codemasters.
Blue Omega’s goal is to develop commercially viable yet original IP for use in the film and interactive arenas. The focus is on properties with cross over potential that are compelling and engineered to grow into full franchises. To accomplish this, Blue Omega is attempting to formalize and perfect the process of intellectual property development.
Our interactive development philosophy is simple and akin to that of independent film production. The core team develops a concept and vision, and then aligns with the best external teams depending on the product. It is less of an outsource model and more of a short term co-operative as all the teams have a significant responsibility in scheduling and planning; not just delivery of a list of assets. This production method allows us the flexibility to develop multiple concepts, evaluate, focus test, and select the strongest candidate for production prior to significant financial investment while maintaining low overhead.
Our core team maintains the vision and awareness of all aspects of production in addition to providing a single point of contact for our publisher and distributor. This distributed production also allows for the efficient compartmentalization and scheduling of tasks, management of budgets, and easy scalability while leveraging the best talent in the industry.
Embracing this methodology has led to significant improvements to the infrastructure and production processes. The wealth of information that is communicated, managed, and compiled enables the team to enhance all aspects of communication through constant interactive video conferences, a distributed secure server environment, and the formal documentation of most feature and asset implementation processes.
Blue Omega Entertainment is focused on working with the best people and companies in the Film and Interactive arenas of finance, production, and distribution. With partners such as Lions Gate Films, Universal Studios, Epic Games, and Liquid Development, Blue Omega has shown it’s ability to deliver.
